About Us

JOHN MANOUGIAN, PRESIDENT. John founded the Agency in 1970, and came in on the ground floor of the condominium concept in the late 1970s. Recognized as an industry leader, John has written policy language, and over the years has educated insurance carriers about the special coverage needs of community associations.  John is the 1999 past president of the Washington Metropolitan Chapter of Community Associations Institute (WMCCAI, www.caidc.org), is a past member of the CAI Research Foundation, and continues to speak at the local level, as well as at various CAI national conferences educating property managers, board members, unit owners, and other industry professionals about coverage forms and issues that affect community associations. John is the recipient of numerous CAI service awards, and has written numerous insurance-related articles for a variety of publications. John is frequently asked to consult with developers and community associations, as well as provide testimony as a professional witness in claims cases. John holds a B.A. degree in criminology from the University of Maryland at College Park.

CHRIS MANOUGIAN, AGENT. Chris joined the Agency in May 1990 after earning a B.A. degree in political science from the University of Maryland at College Park. Chris served seven years as a member of the Maryland Legislative Action Committee, and is a past winner of the Washington Chapter of CAI’s Rising Star Award. Chris works closely with boards of directors, property managers, and developers in marketing existing business, and in writing new business for established and in-development communities. As a special task force member for the Maryland Legislative Action Committee (MD-LAC) in 2008-09, Chris was very active in helping to write legislation that overturned the 2008 Maryland Court of Appeals Anderson v. Gables decision, reaffirming unit coverage for condominiums through the State of Maryland. Chris most recently spoke at the 2011 CAI Law Seminar contractors’ insurance provisions and indemnification agreements.

ROBIN MANOUGIAN, AGENT/CIRMS. Robin joined the Agency in July 1994 following positions as a copy editor at Entrepreneur® magazine, and Editor of Orange Coast® magazine, both in Southern California. A past winner of the WMCCAI Rising Star Award, and a recipient of the Chapter Appreciation Award in 2003 and 2005, Robin previously held positions on the WMCCAI Publications Committee, which produces QuorumTM magazine for members of the Washington Metropolitan Chapter of CAI, and as a WMCCAI committee chair.  Robin earned her CIRMS (Community Insurance Risk Management Specialist) designation in May 2006 and was CIRMS chair from 2007-10. Robin has been a member of CAI’s Maryland Legislative Action Committee (MD-LAC) since 2010 and has been instrumental in helping to pass legislation that affects community associations, including helping to draft the bill that overturned the the Maryland Court of Appeals Anderson v. Gables decision in 2008. Robin also is currently a member of the CAI Law Seminar Planning Committee, and is a frequent speaker at both the Law Seminars and CAI’s National Conferences. Robin works closely with boards of directors and property managers in servicing and marketing existing business, as well as in writing new business for established and in-development communities. Robin is a 1987 graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park and holds a B.S. degree in magazine journalism.

ROSSLYN LOPEZ, BUSINESS/CLAIMS/ACCOUNTING MANAGER. Rosslyn joined the Agency in June 1995, and oversees the accounts payable and receivable operations, the Agency’s accounting systems, manages claims administration, and assists with office management functions. Rosslyn also serves as the Agency’s service liaison between our customers and our insurance carriers, and is the main service contact between our loss adjusters, carrier claims representatives, and our clients.

KATE ALLEN, CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE. Kate joined the Agency in October 2008, and as a licensed agent, assists with writing new business and servicing renewals and existing accounts. She is also direct assistant to John Manougian. Kate is a past member (2009) of WMCCAI’s Publications Committee.
